The Dragon dance (Right) is normally performed during festivals as a way to symbolize power and dignity through the way of the dragons. A team of up to 50 can be carrying the body of the dragon as they dance in an un-synchronized flow, showing the power and fury of the dragon. The dragon is suppose to be frightening and bold, which was the symbol for the Imperial army.
In China there are many different tribes and minority groups who have their own selected dance. For example the Hmong people from southwestern china integrates both singing and dancing in one act. In Taiwan, their dance consists of a spiritual hand-holding line dance which represents their life on a separate island from mainland China. Each of these different tribal dances shows the different life styles of each tribe, they also represents the heritage of their ancestors who passed down these dance movements.
